TUI fly's own site (tuifly.com) moved to a Navitaire booking platform whose content routes — including its "airport & on-board assistance" page at /corporate/airport-onboard-assistance — return an application error to every non-browser client tried, so all of the policy above comes from the TUI help pages that are explicitly scoped to "die Fluggesellschaft TUI fly" and from the airline's own Besondere Beförderungsbedingungen. No TTY/relay service and no dedicated disability desk (separate from the general Servicecenter) is published.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries

The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.

Powered chairs are carried only after Servicecenter registration and written re-confirmation, and only with a dry battery — "Elektrische Rollstühle können nur befördert werden, wenn diese mit einer Trockenbatterie (z.B. Lithium-Batterie) ausgestattet sind". A lithium mobility aid whose watt-hour rating is not clearly marked and identifiable is refused. The help page also states the chair must be foldable.

Worth knowing

SOURCE CAVEAT worth a human check: TUI fly Deutschland's own site (tuifly.com) is now a Navitaire booking application whose content routes — including the assistance page it links from its own header, /corporate/airport-onboard-assistance — return "Something went wrong" to every fetch route tried (direct, reader proxy with render wait, language-prefixed variants). The airline's older information pages (tuifly.com/de/service/mobilitaet.html, /service/informationen-vor-ihrer-reise/barrierefrei-fliegen-mit-rollstuhl) now redirect or 410, and the newest readable Wayback snapshot of them is from 2020, which is too old to present as current. Everything recorded here therefore comes from the TUI help pages that are explicitly headed "gelten nur für die Beförderung mit der Fluggesellschaft TUI fly" and from the Besondere Beförderungsbedingungen der Airline TUI fly, published by TUIfly Vermarktungs GmbH (the contractual carrier; the airline is TUI fly GmbH, Langenhagen). Two internal tensions: the help page says the chair must be foldable, while the BBB only requires battery removal "bei faltbaren Rollstühlen"; and the BBB's flat "battery must not exceed 300 Wh" is not split into installed vs removed cases. Sister airlines TUI fly Belgium (tuifly.be) and TUI Airways UK (tui.co.uk) publish different rules and were deliberately NOT used.
