Fragments only. TAAG Angola Airlines publishes some assistance information but not a full mobility-aid policy. What is below is everything it actually states. Everything marked “not published” genuinely is — confirm it with the airline rather than assuming the international baseline applies.
Who to contact
Transcribed from the airline’s own pages, exactly as it labels them.
- PhoneAngola — Central de reservas (booking centre); the only number TAAG publishes for assistance requestsAtendimento 24h por dia (24 hours a day)
- Online form
- Relay / textapi.whatsapp.com/send?phone=244923190000 (i.e. +244 923 190 000). No TTY, text-relay or video-relay service is published.WhatsApp — 'Atendimento geral' (general assistance)
TAAG publishes no dedicated accessibility phone line or email address — everything routes through the 24-hour booking centre, the WhatsApp line or the general 'Fale connosco' form. flytaag.com serves Portuguese only when the site's language cookie is set to pt-PT; the /pt/ URLs otherwise redirect to the English pages.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
TAAG publishes no battery-powered-wheelchair policy. Its only statement is that a passenger who wants to bring their own wheelchair must inform the airline in advance 'incluindo o tipo de cadeira e a bateria' (including the type of chair and the battery), so acceptance of a powered chair is decided case by case on the information you give. No battery type, watt-hour limit, weight limit or size limit is published anywhere on flytaag.com.

Not published for mobility aids. TAAG's on-board electronics page says 'todos os equipamentos que contenham baterias de lítio devem ser transportados na cabine e não no porão', but that rule is written for personal electronic devices and must not be read across to a wheelchair battery.

Not published. TAAG states no terminal-insulation, disconnection or immobilisation requirement for mobility aids.
No battery spec sheet, MSDS or form is required in anything TAAG publishes; it asks only that the chair type and battery be notified in advance when booking.

Because TAAG publishes nothing about wheelchair batteries, a powered-chair user has to settle the battery chemistry, watt-hours and handling with the booking centre case by case before travelling.
Manual wheelchairs
'Se o passageiro desejar levar a sua própria cadeira de rodas, a companhia aérea deve ser previamente informada (incluindo o tipo de cadeira e a bateria)' — a passenger may bring their own wheelchair provided the airline is informed in advance of the chair type and battery.

TAAG does not say whether a folding manual wheelchair may be stowed in the cabin.
Not published — TAAG describes no in-cabin stowage for a wheelchair.
No wheelchair dimensions are published. The 158 cm total-dimension figure on TAAG's special-baggage page is a general checked-baggage size rule, not a stated maximum chair size.

No weight limit for a wheelchair is published. TAAG's general special-baggage limits are 23 kg / 158 cm in Economy and 32 kg / 158 cm in premium classes, but those are stated for special baggage such as musical instruments, televisions and household items, not for mobility aids.

TAAG does not say where a personal wheelchair is returned. Its ground-assistance page describes only the airport wheelchair services it provides (WCHR, WCHS, wheelchair plus transport to the seat).

TAAG's ground-assistance page lists three wheelchair services: cadeira de rodas rampa (WCHR) for passengers who can climb stairs; cadeira de rodas degraus (WCHS) for those who cannot; and 'cadeira de rodas e transporte ao lugar' for passengers who must also be carried to their seat, for whom TAAG recommends travelling accompanied. Boarding assistance is also provided for blind passengers.
Booking & cost
TAAG publishes no advance-notice deadline in hours. It says only that special assistance 'deve ser sempre solicitada durante o processo de reserva do voo' ('must always be requested during the flight booking process'), and that a passenger bringing their own wheelchair must inform the airline beforehand.

'A assistência especial a passageiros com deficiência ... deve ser sempre solicitada durante o processo de reserva do voo. Para obter uma melhor resposta dos nossos serviços, terá também de descrever o tipo exacto de assistência necessária.' 'Se o passageiro desejar levar a sua própria cadeira de rodas, a companhia aérea deve ser previamente informada (incluindo o tipo de cadeira e a bateria).' The booking centre (+244 9231 90 000) is staffed 24 hours.

TAAG states that the special assistance service itself is free — 'A assistência especial a passageiros com deficiência é totalmente gratuita' — but it does not say whether a personal wheelchair or mobility aid is carried free of charge or outside the checked-baggage allowance. Its special-baggage page says the weight of 'bagagem especial' is added to the regular hold-baggage weight and may attract charges.

TAAG does not publish how many mobility devices a passenger may carry.
Conditions of Carriage: 'Em caso de destruição, perda de, dano ou atraso de bagagem, 1.131 "Special Drawing Rights" (aproximadamente 1.200EUR; 1.800USD) por passageiro na maioria dos casos.' Where the Warsaw Convention applies instead, 17 SDR per kilo of checked baggage. A higher limit can be obtained by making a special declaration of value at check-in and paying a supplement. This is TAAG's general baggage notice; no mobility-aid-specific rule is published, and damage must be reported in writing within 7 days.

On board
TAAG does not publish an on-board aisle chair. It states that if a WCHC passenger presents a declaration of autonomy in order to travel alone, 'não lhes será prestada qualquer assistência especial a bordo' — no special on-board assistance will be given.

Neste caso, recomenda-se que o passageiro viaje acompanhado.' Passengers who are very limited in movement (WCHC) should travel accompanied; if they instead sign a declaration of autonomy, TAAG will provide no on-board assistance with the toilet, lifting, carrying or feeding.

Worth knowing
Read in Portuguese (flytaag.com only serves /pt/ pages when the site language cookie is set to pt-PT; otherwise the Portuguese URLs redirect to English). The Portuguese and English pages carry identical content, and it is thin: TAAG describes the WCHR / WCHS / carry-to-seat services and says special assistance is free and must be requested when booking, but publishes nothing at all about mobility-aid battery types, watt-hour limits, weight or size limits, cabin stowage, gate delivery or seating. The one sentence that touches powered chairs is that a passenger bringing their own wheelchair must tell the airline in advance 'including the type of chair and the battery'. Two traps avoided here: (1) TAAG's on-board electronics page says every device with a lithium battery must travel in the cabin, not the hold — that is written for phones and laptops and has not been recorded as a wheelchair rule; (2) the disabled-passengers page offers a download labelled 'ANAC — Assistência Especial' (flytaag.com/Portals/0/Ficheiros/Conteudos/Planear/pt/Dicas_ANAC_Acessibilidade_web.pdf, file version-dated 2016). Its text is Brazilian ANAC accessibility guidance (PNAE terminology, 60-year age threshold, 20% companion-fare and 80% excess-baggage discount rules) rather than Angolan regulation, so nothing from it has been used to back a value. TAAG flies to São Paulo, Lisbon and Guangzhou but not the USA, and publishes no CRO/ACAA page. There is also an oddity in the Portuguese text of the disabled-passengers page: it says both 'A TAAG aceita que estes passageiros possam viajar acompanhados' and 'A TAAG aceita que esses passageiros viajem sozinhos' in consecutive sentences.
