No dedicated disability desk is published. The general Call Center handles special-category bookings, which Somon Air says cannot be made online at all.

3 of the unanswered fields below share one explanation: Not published — Somon Air publishes no watt-hour figure of any kind. The rest carry their own.
Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Not published. The special-categories page (English, Russian and Tajik) refers only to "your wheelchair" and never distinguishes a battery-powered chair. The Baggage section has exactly seven pages — Hand luggage, Free baggage allowance, Conditions of carriage, Liquid items, Dangerous goods, Sport equipment, Musical instruments — and all seven were read: none mentions a mobility aid or a battery. The Dangerous goods page lists only weapons, explosives, gases, flammables, corrosives, radioactive, magnetised and poisonous materials. Ask the Call Center before booking.
Not published. The word "lithium" does not appear anywhere on somonair.com in English, Russian or Tajik: not on the special-categories page, not on the Dangerous goods page, not in the FAQ. ICAO/IATA defaults apply — see the global rules.
Not published; Somon Air says nothing about spare batteries for mobility aids.
Not published; Somon Air gives no instruction about removing a wheelchair battery.
Not published; Somon Air says nothing about gel, AGM, sealed lead-acid or dry-cell wheelchair batteries.
Not published for mobility aids. Somon Air's FAQ list of items forbidden in luggage includes "Caustic substances, mercury, acids, alkalis, liquid battery cells", and the Dangerous goods page bans "corrosive or oxidizing materials and substances" — but neither states any exception, condition or packing rule for a wet-cell wheelchair battery.
Not published; no terminal-insulation or immobilisation instruction appears anywhere on the site.
Not published for batteries. Somon Air only requires the special-category booking itself to be agreed with the airline 48 hours ahead through a ticket office.

Somon Air's only statement covers wheelchairs generally: returned "either immediately after leaving the airplane or at the baggage claim area". No separate rule for powered chairs is published.

Somon Air publishes no powered-wheelchair or battery policy whatsoever. Its fleet is Boeing 737s operating from Dushanbe and Khujand.
Manual wheelchairs
"Your wheelchair is transported in the baggage compartment of the airplane." A folding chair is carried free of charge and outside the baggage allowance.

"Crutches, canes and walkers necessary for mobility can be transported in the cabin. Your wheelchair is transported in the baggage compartment of the airplane" — stated identically on the English, Russian and Tajik pages. Read against that, the Conditions-of-carriage page's looser wording ("In addition to the free baggage allowance on board, you can optionally take some personal items: … a collapsible wheelchair or crutches (if these items are needed for a passenger)") is a free-carriage rule, not a cabin-stowage permission.

Not published; Somon Air says the wheelchair travels in the baggage compartment, so no in-cabin stowage limit is given.
Not published — Somon Air states no size limit for a checked wheelchair.
Not published for wheelchairs. Somon Air publishes only general free-allowance weights (30 kg business / 20 kg economy), which explicitly do not include the mobility aid.
"After arrival, your wheelchair will be returned either immediately after leaving the airplane or at the baggage claim area" — Somon Air does not guarantee which, and the Russian and Tajik pages say the same. The FAQ describes only the second outcome: your own chair may be used as far as the aircraft steps, then "the stroller or wheelchair will be transferred to the luggage compartment for loading… You will be able to get your stroller on the baggage claim tape."

Crutches, canes and walkers may be taken into the cabin; the wheelchair itself always travels in the hold.
Booking & cost
"The flight of a passenger of a special category must be agreed with the airline at least 48 hours prior to departure." Passengers with limited mobility are listed as a special category.

"Ticket issuance for passengers of special categories is possible only at the head office of the company and at sales offices of authorized agents (not online!)", where the agent checks whether the flight can be accepted.

"For patients and passengers with reduced mobility, medical preparations, folding chair (wheelchair), crutches are carried free of charge and are not included in the free baggage allowance." FAQ: "Is it possible to transport a baby stroller or wheelchair… for free? Yes, transportation is free." The two pages disagree about the AIRPORT chair: the FAQ says "This service is provided free of charge", the special-categories page (EN/RU/TG) says being taken to baggage reclaim in one "may be a charge" depending on destination.

Not published. Somon Air lists a folding wheelchair, crutches and medicines as carried free outside the allowance but does not state a number.
No figure is published, for mobility aids or for baggage generally. The Conditions of carriage page says only that "a passenger may declare the value of checked baggage if in excess of applicable limits of liability limitation of the carrier. If the passenger makes such a declaration, he must pay an additional fee" — without stating what those limits are, and without naming the Montreal or Warsaw Convention. Carriage is stated to follow the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan and the international acts it recognises.

On board
Not published. Somon Air instead warns passengers to prepare "taking into account that it may be difficult or impossible to move around on board the airplane", which suggests no aisle chair, but it does not say so.
Not published.
Not published as a service. Somon Air states that passengers in a wheelchair "who are unable to move independently on board" must travel with an accompanying person who cares for them in flight, or under the Carrier's supervision after filing a written application — identical wording in Russian and Tajik. Crutches, canes and walkers may be kept in the cabin, and passengers are told to keep everything they need in flight in their hand baggage.

Worth knowing
DEEPENING PASS (2026-07-29, second sweep): the site's whole information tree was enumerated from the nav (information?data=1..14, 24, 31, 32 plus /baggage, /fleets, /contacts, /service-sz) and every Baggage page was opened, in English, Russian and Tajik. There is no mobility-aid page and no battery text anywhere: the word "lithium" does not occur on somonair.com in any of the three languages, and the Dangerous goods page is a nine-line list of weapons, explosives, gases, flammables, corrosives, radioactive, magnetised and poisonous materials with no battery clause at all. The Russian and Tajik special-categories pages were read line by line and carry exactly the same text as the English one. Two internal contradictions surfaced: the FAQ says the airport wheelchair service is free while the special-categories page says it "may be a charge" depending on the destination; and the Conditions-of-carriage page lists "a collapsible wheelchair or crutches" among personal items you may take "on board" in addition to the allowance, while the special-categories page says flatly that the wheelchair travels in the baggage compartment. Somon Air has a genuine reduced-mobility page but zero battery content: nothing on lithium watt-hours, spares, terminals or removal, and the dangerous-goods page never mentions mobility aids. The hard part is booking — tickets for special-category passengers cannot be bought online at all, only at the head office or an authorised agent who must first get the flight approved, and the airline reserves the right to refuse. It also refuses stretcher passengers and anyone needing medical oxygen. Airport wheelchair assistance is free (FAQ), but being pushed to baggage reclaim after landing may be chargeable depending on the destination. The Russian and English pages carry the same text; both were read.
