No MSDS is asked for, but for a lithium-ion chair "a UN-approved test document must be provided to prove the battery complies with Section 38.3 of Part III of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria". Sichuan also asks passengers to bring the wheelchair and battery instruction manual and any special assembly tools. Separately, a ground-wheelchair applicant normally needs a medical certificate issued within 10 days of departure, waived if the impairment is obvious or the passenger is over 65.

Space-dependent: "Folding wheelchairs of passengers will be stored in the cabin if there's space and facility based on a first-come-first-serve principle. If there's no space or facility in the cabin, it will be checked in as baggage at no extra cost." Applications should be made when booking and "no later than 48 hours prior to the flight departure time in principle" for: checking in an electric wheelchair; using the on-board narrow (aisle) wheelchair; a group of disabled passengers; and a service dog. A ground wheelchair is 24 h for domestic flights and 48 h for international/regional ones; a stretcher is 72 h. Sichuan's free-carriage list, over and above the free baggage allowance, is "一辆可折叠的轮椅和/或一双拐杖和/或一副背带或旅客用的其他肢体修复用具" — ONE folding wheelchair and/or a pair of crutches and/or braces or other prosthetic appliances — for disabled passengers who rely on them. Domestic conditions of carriage 14.10.2: checked baggage lost or damaged is compensated at no more than RMB 100/kg, or actual value if lower; a damaged suitcase at no more than RMB 100/kg of the case's own weight; items lost on board or while boarding/disembarking at no more than RMB 3,000 per passenger. Widebodies only: "On flights operated by Sichuan Airlines' wide-body aircraft (A330, A350), a specialized narrow wheelchair is available for passengers who cannot walk.
