Rossiya publishes no dedicated disability desk, email address or TTY/relay service — requests go through the general contact centre or the feedback form. Its own page states that for SU 6001-6999 flights (the Aeroflot-numbered services Rossiya operates) special services are requested through Aeroflot's website, sales offices or contact centre.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries

The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.

Powered chairs accepted

Prior approval and surrender at check-in: "Transportation is issued after the request confirmation", and "a wheelchair with electrical drive is mandatory to be handed to the baggage compartment at the check-in counter" — a powered chair may not be used to the gate. Lithium-ion batteries

Accepted with prior confirmation: wheelchairs used by passengers with disabilities are an explicit exception to Rossiya's ban on lithium-ion batteries above 160 Wh. Battery must not exceed 300 Wh; if it can be removed it must be removed and carried in the cabin.

The Russian page states DAA is NOT available at Dubai (DXB), Samara (KUF), Samarkand (SKD), Tashkent (TAS), Nizhny Novgorod (GOJ) on jet bridges, Bishkek (FRU) or Ulan-Ude (UUD).

Rossiya recommends arriving at the airport 4 hours before scheduled departure. An accompanying person is mandatory for a passenger with simultaneous vision and hearing disability and for a disabled child under 12; without them at check-in the passenger is not accepted for carriage.

Charge for carrying the aid

"A wheelchair and another mean of transportation or movement ... are issued as checked baggage and are transported in the baggage compartment of the aircraft free of charge", in addition to the free checked baggage allowance. Airport escort and assistance are also free of charge.

Mobility devices carried free

"In addition to the free baggage allowance, it is possible to transport own wheelchair and another vehicle or movement, such as a wheelchair, electric attachment to the wheelchair, stair step, lift, etc. in the luggage compartment without additional charge." Crutches, canes, folding walkers, rollators and prostheses travel in the cabin on top of the hand-baggage allowance.

If they damage your chair

Rossiya says it "is ready to bear responsibility to passengers in accordance with Russian legislation and international legal norms" where the damage is recorded at the arrival airport on a commercial act / PIR. Written claims must be filed within 7 days (international) or 6 months (domestic) of receiving the baggage (Art. 126-127, Russian Air Code). No enhanced mobility-aid cover is published.

Airport handling staff escort a wheelchair user "to the seat in the cabin", using an ambulift where the passenger cannot move independently, and boarding is before general boarding. But airline personnel "does not provide medical help, care, feeding of passengers, hygiene manipulations, passenger movement (associated with their carriage)" — no lifting or toilet assistance in flight.

Rossiya publishes a full PRM page in Russian with an English translation; both were read and quotations here are from the English version unless marked. Three things a human should re-check. (1) The "Delivery at Aircraft" exclusion lists differ between languages: the Russian page lists Dubai, Samara (KUF), Samarkand, Tashkent, Nizhny Novgorod (jet bridges), Bishkek and Ulan-Ude; the English page lists Hamburg (HAM) instead of Samara — the English list looks stale. (2) The disability page says a spare wheelchair battery may be carried "в багаже" (in baggage) while the baggage page requires removed and spare batteries to travel in the passenger cabin; the cabin rule is the safe reading. (3) Most Rossiya flying is done as Aeroflot-numbered SU 6001-6999 services, and Rossiya's own page directs those passengers to Aeroflot's website/contact centre for special-service requests and to Aeroflot's department for damage claims — so a traveller may be handled entirely by Aeroflot despite booking FV. Hard points for power-chair users: the chair must be surrendered at the check-in counter (no gate check, no DAA tag for powered chairs), the passenger must carry their own tools to disconnect the battery terminals and ICAO-compliant battery packaging, and the lithium cap is 300 Wh. Rossiya recommends arriving 4 hours before departure.
