WeChat official service account — self-service wheelchair request

Okay Airways publishes only in Simplified Chinese and only one channel — the 95307 hotline. The site is a single-page app whose policy text renders client-side, so the pages are unreadable without a JavaScript-rendering fetch.

4 of the unanswered fields below share one explanation: Not published for mobility aids. Okay Airways' lithium-battery page publishes its limits only as scanned table images (no machine-readable text) and its wheelchair regulation simply refers to the dangerous-goods rules. Call 95307 and ask for the watt-hour figures in writing. The rest carry their own.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries

The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.

Powered chairs accepted
Yes

Article 33: an electric wheelchair must be checked. It must be handed over 2 hours before the ordinary check-in deadline and must comply with the dangerous-goods air transport rules. Article 12(2) lists 'checking an electric wheelchair' among the services requiring 48 h notice.

Lithium-ion batteries
Conditional

Electric wheelchairs are accepted as checked baggage 'in compliance with the relevant dangerous-goods air transport regulations' (Article 33), and Okay Airways publishes a separate lithium-battery page built on the ICAO Technical Instructions. It states no mobility-aid-specific lithium rule in text, so the applicable limits are the ICAO/IATA baseline rather than an Okay Airways figure.

Conditional

Article 33: 'where safety standards are met, airport operators with the capability are encouraged to allow electric wheelchairs to be checked at the cabin door' — encouragement, not a guarantee, and it depends on the airport rather than the airline.

Okay Airways' battery rules exist only as photographs of a table (published 2025-04-03), so no watt-hour figure could be read from text. The page directs questions to the 95307 hotline. Treat the ICAO/IATA baseline on the wheelair rules page as the likely applicable standard, and get Okay Airways to confirm in writing.

Manual wheelchairs

Manual chairs accepted
Yes

Article 20: a passenger may use their own wheelchair up to the cabin door. For a non-electric wheelchair, Okay Airways and its ground agents must allow it to be checked and returned at the aircraft door, or taken into the cabin for stowage under Chapter 5 where on-board stowage conditions are met.

Chapter 5: where the cabin has stowage facilities and space, assistive devices are stowed on a first-come, first-served basis and must comply with CAAC security and dangerous-goods rules. Where there is no cabin stowage facility or space, the device is checked free of charge. Article 31 forbids Okay Airways from restricting the Annex 1 cabin devices as carry-on items.

Yes

Article 20: for a non-electric wheelchair the airline and its ground agents must allow check-in and return at the cabin door (舱门口托运与交回).

Worth knowing

Everything here comes from Okay Airways' own 2026-revised Regulations on the Air Transport of Persons with Disabilities, published in Simplified Chinese on its help-guide pages. The site is a Vue single-page app: a normal fetch returns a 1.7 KB shell, and the text only appears with a JavaScript-rendering fetch (scripts/fetch_page.py --render 25). Two structural gaps a traveller must close by phone: Okay Airways publishes NO watt-hour figures in text (its lithium rules are scanned table images) and NO wheelchair size or weight limit. It also caps nothing explicitly but requires an electric wheelchair to be surrendered 2 hours before the ordinary check-in deadline. Article 58 requires monthly reporting of disabled-passenger carriage, including refusals, to the CAAC service-quality platform.
