- Relay / textNeos routes assistance requests and specific-flight questions through the chat service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the homepage of neosair.com. Seat assignment for assisted passengers is handled by the chat box Monday–Friday 09:00–18:00 CET, or at airport check-in.Neos Support Chat Box ("DO YOU NEED HELP?") — 24/7 web chat
Neos publishes no dedicated accessibility telephone line or assistance e-mail; everything goes through the 24/7 "DO YOU NEED HELP?" chat box, the MY BOOKING area, or (for complaints) the Customer Care ticket form. Neos states explicitly that "complaints submitted in a manner different from those indicated will not be handled (e.g. by e-mail)". If you booked through a travel agency you must make the assistance request through the agency, not with Neos. Complaints about assistance can be escalated to ENAC, the Italian civil aviation authority.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Powered chairs with sealed (non-spillable) or lithium-ion batteries are accepted, but chairs powered by unsealed (spillable) batteries are refused outright, the chair must fit the published per-aircraft maximum dimensions and 200 kg limit, and "if the mobility aid does not meet the safety requirements, it may not be allowed on board" — Neos requires the wheelchair data sheet with all battery specifications when the service is booked.

Accepted, but treated as dangerous goods: the battery must be of a type tested to the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, subsection 38.3, and the wheelchair data sheet with battery specifications must be supplied when booking.

"Where the battery is removed by the user, if the mobility aid is specifically designed to allow the battery to be removed, the battery must not exceed 300 Wh or for a device with two batteries required for its operation, each battery must not exceed 160 Wh." Removed batteries travel only in the passenger cabin, inside a protective case.

"Neos allows you to carry one (1) spare 300 Wh battery, or two (2) batteries of max 160 Wh." Spares travel only in the passenger cabin, inside a protective case.

Lithium-ion: one spare of up to 300 Wh, or two spares of max 160 Wh each — two is the maximum. For sealed non-lithium chairs Neos permits one spare wet battery or two nickel-metal hydride spares.

Not required. A sealed battery may remain attached if the chair can be stowed upright in the hold, and for lithium-ion Neos frames removal as optional — "where the battery is removed by the user, if the mobility aid is specifically designed to allow the battery to be removed" — adding that if the battery is not removed there is no watt-hour limit.

Sealed (non-spillable) battery chairs are accepted. If the chair can be placed in the hold in an upright position the battery may remain attached, provided it is securely attached, the electrical contacts are protected against short circuits and the electrical circuits are isolated. One spare is permitted for wet batteries and two for nickel-metal hydride batteries.

Conditions Neos sets for leaving a sealed battery installed: "The battery must be securely attached to the wheelchair/mobility aid; the electrical contacts of the battery must be protected against short circuits; the electrical circuits have been isolated." Removed and spare batteries must be carried in the cabin inside a protective case.

Required for both sealed-battery and lithium-ion chairs: "when booking the service, we ask you to provide our Support Chat Box ... or travel agency with the wheelchair's technical data sheet including battery specifications". Neos allows an in-cabin manual wheelchair on the B787 but publishes no separate cabin stowage dimensions — only the general maximum wheelchair sizes.
"The maximum dimensions of a personal wheelchair will need to comply with the following measurements: Aircraft B737: 140 x 114 x 85 (length x width x height); Aircraft B787: 150 x 150 x 160." The binding B737 figures are recorded here; the wider B787 limits are in the aircraft note.

Not published. Neos says the manual chair is collected at check-in or after you are seated on board, but does not say whether it is returned at the aircraft door or at the baggage carousel.
A manual chair may only travel in the cabin on the Boeing 787; on the 737 it is stowed in the hold.
Booking & cost
Assistance must be requested "when booking your flight or at a later stage by accessing the 'MY BOOKING' section, no later than 48 hours before your flight's departure". Longer lead times apply to other equipment: 72 hours for postural support equipment and at least 4 days for a portable oxygen concentrator. Assisted passengers must check in 2 hours before short/medium-haul and 3 hours before long-haul flights.

Neos asks you to state the type of assistance required (including "wheelchair assistance for passenger travelling with own mobility aid") and, for a powered chair, to send the wheelchair technical data sheet with battery specifications via the Support Chat Box. Online check-in is not available to passengers requesting assistance; seats are assigned by the chat box (Mon–Fri 09:00–18:00 CET) or at airport check-in.

"You can transport up to two mobility aids (e.g., wheelchair and walker) free of charge." Under EC Regulation 1107/2006 the airport assistance service is also "offered free of charge at all airports", and a seat for an accompanying person carries no additional charge (ENAC DG16/07/2021).

"If a wheelchair or other mobility assistive devices of passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility ... get damaged, you can submit a reimbursement request" — file a damaged property report at the airport Lost & Found before leaving, then claim through the Customer Care form (Neos replies within 30 days). The General Conditions cap liability for destruction, loss or damage to baggage at 1,288 SDR per passenger. Neos also declines liability for minor non-structural damage such as small cuts, scratches and dents.

On board
"Neos aircraft are all equipped with an aisle wheelchair that can be used to move the passenger from his/her seat to the toilet if required." The exception Neos itself flags: "if your flight is operated by a third-party aircraft, some assistance services (e.g., wheelchairs on board) may not be available or may be different" — Neos wet-leases capacity, so the aisle chair is not guaranteed on every flight number.

"For safety reasons, each aircraft is equipped with designated seats for passengers with disabilities or with reduced mobility. These seats are assigned during check-in at the airport... it is not possible to allocate seats in emergency exit rows." The number of PRM seats is capped by EU rules according to aircraft type and configuration, which is why the 48-hour request matters. Accompanying-person seating is free under ENAC DG16/07/2021.

Fleet detail. Maximum personal-wheelchair dimensions differ sharply by aircraft: Boeing 737 — 140 x 114 x 85 cm (length x width x height); Boeing 787 — 150 x 150 x 160 cm. Maximum weight 200 kg on both. An in-cabin manual wheelchair is only possible on the B787.
Worth knowing
Neos' English special-assistance page is unusually complete for a leisure carrier: per-aircraft maximum wheelchair dimensions, a 200 kg weight cap, explicit 'no Wh limit if the battery is not removed', 300/160 Wh removed and spare limits, an aisle chair on all Neos aircraft, and free carriage of two mobility aids. Three things a power-chair user must plan around: (1) chairs with unsealed (spillable) batteries are refused outright; (2) the wheelchair technical data sheet including battery specifications has to be sent in advance through the chat box, and a chair that does not meet the safety requirements may be refused; (3) on the B737 the chair must fit 140 x 114 x 85 cm, which is a tight envelope for a large power chair. Neos also warns that flights operated by a third-party (wet-leased) aircraft may not offer the same assistance services, including on-board wheelchairs. Note a discrepancy on Neos' own site: the special-assistance page sets the deadline at 48 hours before departure, while the Contacts page says special boarding assistance can be added in MY RESERVATION only 'up to 4 days before the flight' — a human should confirm which window actually applies. There is no accessibility phone line and Neos refuses e-mail complaints; everything goes through the 24/7 chat box and the Customer Care ticket form.
