Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
A lithium-battery wheelchair is carried if it uses one battery of no more than 300 Wh or two of no more than 160 Wh each, with the batteries fixed to the chair. It tells wheelchair users to "conoce las dimensiones de la puerta de carga de nuestros aviones" in the fleet section: the Airbus A319 entry reads "Puerta de carga (alto x ancho): FWD 1,82 m x 1,24 m, AFT 1,82 m". Not every type was checked; verify for your own aircraft.
