Air Macau's current site is a single-page app whose text is loaded from web.airmacau.com.cn; that host returns an Aliyun WAF 405 block for every request from outside Greater China (the Internet Archive's own crawler has been blocked the same way since March 2024), so the live 'Wheelchair Arrangement' page renders with a title and no content. Re-checked 29 July 2026 with a JS-rendering proxy and against the site's own JavaScript bundle: the page's only content call is getRuleContentBythreeNodeId(69) on that blocked host, and the .mo, .tw, .kr and mainland mirrors all serve the same shell. The two hotlines above are printed in the live site's own customer-service panel. There is no special-assistance email address, but Air Macau's assistance form IS live as a PDF on its own image host — see policy_pages.

Powered wheelchairs & batteries
The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Accepted only as checked baggage, only with a lithium-ion or dry battery, and only after the type, brand, model and power have been submitted to Air Macau's airport or town office at least 3 days before departure. Carriage follows the IATA Dangerous Goods process and lithium cells must meet UN Manual of Tests and Criteria Part III Section 38.3. A further material limit applies: 'The allowance of wheelchair passenger is 6 on each flight.' Snapshot 6 Dec 2019.

Live on 29 Jul 2026: Air Macau's Special Assistance Request form (CS-217/1) requires the battery type to be ticked — spillable wet-cell, non-spillable wet-cell, dry or Li-ion — plus the number of lithium batteries and the watt-hour rating (Ah × V). Air Macau splits wheelchair users into two categories: those who 'can walk within a short distance, can up and down stairs' (no companion required) and those who 'can not walk by self', who need a medical certificate and must travel with at least one healthy companion. Passengers are advised to pack the chair in a suitable bag: 'Wheelchair and other supplementary device must be packed very carefully to avoid damage during deliver process.'

The only deadline Air Macau has ever put in writing where we can read it is from its pre-2020 Rules page, captured 6 December 2019 — six years and eight months ago: 'Passenger is required to submit the requirement of check-in electronic powered wheelchair to the airport office or local town office of Air Macau at least 3 days prior to departure date' (= 72 h), and 7 working days for a stretcher. The current site is geo-blocked to us, so treat 3 days as a floor, book earlier, and confirm with Air Macau.

Not stated explicitly. Air Macau's live Special Assistance Request form asks a WCHC passenger 'whether Wheelchair needed in cabin? 客艙輪椅' — which in IATA practice means an on-board aisle chair — and the 2019 Rules page said Air Macau's own wheelchair goes 'from check-in counter to the door side of the aircraft or the seat of Cabin'. Neither states that an aisle chair is carried, or on which aircraft, so this stays unanswered rather than assumed.

Confirmed live on 29 Jul 2026 by Air Macau's own MEDIF form: 'Cabin attendants are NOT authorized to give special assistance (e.g. lifting) to particular passengers … they are trained only in FIRST AID and are NOT PERMITTED to administer any injection, or to give medication.' The 2019 Rules page adds that a passenger who 'can not walk by self' is accepted only with a medical certificate and 'at least travel with one healthy companion'; staff assistance goes as far as the aircraft door or cabin seat.

READ THE DATE ON THESE FACTS — THEY ARE SIX YEARS AND EIGHT MONTHS OLD. Every wheelchair rule below except the hotlines and the MEDIF form comes from Air Macau's own pre-2020 'Rules' page, captured by the Internet Archive on 6 December 2019, days before the current site replaced it. Freshness was re-checked on 29 July 2026 and nothing newer is readable: the current site (www.airmacau.com.mo) is a Vue single-page app that pulls every page's text from web.airmacau.com.cn, which answers an Aliyun WAF '405 — your request has been blocked' from outside Greater China; so do web.airmacau.com.mo (403), mp. and amh.airmacau.com.cn, and the .tw / .kr / mainland mirrors serve the identical empty shell. The Internet Archive's crawler has been blocked the same way since March 2024, so no capture of the rule API exists; the only post-2019 capture of the old Rules URL (10 Oct 2025) is the 3.5 KB app shell. BECAUSE OF THAT AGE, four numbers have been deliberately withheld rather than presented as current: the 3-day (72 h) notice, the one-free-wheelchair count, the 300 Wh lithium cap and — read the details — the '1 × 300 Wh or 2 × 160 Wh' allowance. They are quoted inside those details as 2019 information, and a traveller must confirm each with Air Macau. What the 2019 page said, and what is probably still broadly true: one wheelchair (manual or electric) carried free per disabled passenger, hold only — an adult wheelchair may never travel in the cabin; only lithium-ion and dry batteries accepted, so a wet-cell chair is refused; the lithium battery must always be removed, insulated and carried into the cabin, with a UN 38.3 test document. The hardest constraint is a capacity cap of six wheelchair passengers per flight, so book very early. A passenger who cannot walk at all needs a medical certificate and must travel with an able-bodied companion; stretchers are one per flight, economy only, 7 working days' notice. One genuinely live, readable Air Macau document was added this pass: the MEDIF / Special Assistance Request form CS-217/1 (img.airmacau.com.cn), which is where the chair type, battery type and watt-hours are declared and which states in its own words that cabin attendants are not authorised to lift a passenger.
