The part that goes wrong. Battery chemistry and watt-hours decide whether your chair flies, and the rules differ depending on whether the battery can be removed.
Air Botswana publishes nothing at all about battery-powered wheelchairs or mobility scooters — no acceptance statement, no advance-approval process, no packing rules.

Air Botswana's website is fully reachable but has no accessibility, special-assistance or dangerous-goods section. The airline's entire published wheelchair policy is one sentence on the Conditions of Carriage page: "If you need a wheelchair or any other form of assistance, please let us know at the time of making your reservation." Nothing is published on carrying the passenger's own chair, on any battery type, on watt-hour limits, on fees, or on gate delivery. Two clauses in the General Conditions PDF matter to a disabled traveller: Art. 6 Para. 3 promises seating accommodation in accordance with applicable law, and Art. 8 Para. 3 (Limitation on Carriage) makes acceptance of "persons requiring special assistance" subject to prior arrangement with the carrier. Anyone flying a powered chair on BP must phone +267 3680900 and get the battery rules in writing — the site will not answer the question. Sections of the site are also served under an /index.php/ prefix; both resolve to the same content.
